Common causes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV, which occurs when calcium deposits within the inner ear are displaced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Labyrinthitis, or inflammation of parts of the inner ear due to infection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M\u00e9ni\u00e8re\u2019s disease, a condition where there is excess fluid in the inner ear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vestibular neuronitis, which is the result of a viral infection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Less frequently, vertigo is the result of an issue with the brain, including migraines, strokes, tumors, multiple sclerosis, alcohol and certain drugs.
